The Memphis City Schools Board of Commissioners last night voted to name Red Deluxe Brand Development it’s new advertising agency of record. The firm will work in a three-year contract with public relations partner Trust and institutional change management consultants Reingold to communicate the revolutionary—and sometimes complex—innovation underway at MCS. “This is something all of us have been looking forward to for a long, long time,” board member Betty Mallott told the Memphis Commercial Appeal after the vote.
The bulk of the three agencies’ initial responsibilities will center around communicating aspects of the Teacher Effectiveness Initiative, an MCS initiative that won a $90-million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and was instrumental in Tennessee’s selection as one of only two states to earn first-round “Race to the Top” funding from the Obama Administration.
MCS is a cause close to our hearts. Vive la revolution!
