It is easy enough to come up with an over-promising tagline. It’s easy to find a gritty typeface for an underdog city that believes in a gritty underdog team.

But after five years of promoting the idea of a team for our town, it took one group of guys to make all of those promises true.

What can we say but thanks to Tony, Darrell, Shane, Mike, Marc, Rudy, Hamed, Xavier, O.J., Leon, Zach, Ish, Greivis, and Sam—for making us seem prescient.

For filling us with joy.

For making Memphis believe.
